  • Where is the Festival?

    CLIMATE / WEATHER

  • What weather is expected @ the Festival?
    • Daytime Temperature averaging 25 C
    • Rain is rare for mid-November - but we can take 7,500 under cover if necessary
    • Humidity - not a problem as Canberra is inland with mild dry November climate
    • UV rating - we advise a hat as Canberra is approx 700m above sea level and prone to higher UV than on the coast
    • Overall = Spring/Early Summertime = fantastic!

  • What Groups/Clubs get discounted tickets to the Festival?
    • Groups and Clubs are invited or apply for discounted tickets through a Group/Club Registration Form provided by the Festival
    • Groups/Clubs using this system include:
      • RV groups - Happy Wheelers, Highway Wanderers, Riverlanders, etc
      • Touring Clubs - Ulysses, others
      • Music Clubs - Country Music Clubs, Weekend Warriors, etc
      • Dance Clubs/Groups - various Linedancing and Clogging groups

  • What Types Of Accommodation Are Available @ the Festival?

    CAMPING

  • Is Camping Available @ the Festival?
    • The site of the Canberra Country Music Festival, Exhibition Park has the largest and most inexpensive powered and unpowered camp sites in Canberra and the surrounding region.
    • All amenities are on site including laundry and chemcial waste drop site, with a capcity for several thousand happy campers.
    • Please note that no forward bookings can be directly made, so the Festival has appointed Ticketek to get both Festival tickets and weekend camping reservations.
    • Please avoid dissapointment and book early - not only do you get the Festival Weekend Pass, but also a guaranteed camping site.

  • How Can I Have My Campsite Located With My Friends Campsite @ the Festival?
    • Make the ticket and camping booking through Ticketek to get both Festival tickets and weekend camping reservations.
    • Arrive at a similar time so you set up in the same area - do not leave it until the final day - most sites will be taken!
    • If part of a recognised Group/Club then use the Group/Club Registration Form and we will ensure you are located together with other members of your Group/Club in the camping area.

  • Can I Camp Overnight In My Ute, Small Tent or Swag @ the Festival?
    • Yes, but you need to pay the unpowered camping fee that also provides for use of toilets and showers
    • We prefer you to sleep over onsite, especially if you may have enjoyed the Bundy Bar a bit more than the law allows for driving
    • Make the ticket and camping booking through Ticketek to get both Festival tickets and weekend camping reservations.

  • Pets? Can I Bring My Dog or Cat to the Camping Area, Muster and the Festival?
    • Yes, for the Camping Area. we are "Pet Friendly", but your dog or cat must be on a secured leash at all times
    • Yes, for the Ute Van + Truck Muster. we are "Pet Friendly", but your dog or cat must be in the vehicle cabin or on a secured leash at all times
    • Only trained guide dogs, display dogs and Customs sniffer dogs are allowed in the Festival buildings, performance areas, displays and markets - and then also on a secured leash.

    ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

  • What Can't I Bring Into The Festival?
    • Alcohol, softdrinks and opened water bottles of any kind. Sealed water bottles are OK
    • Take away food containers and food therein - lollies and unopened snack packs are OK
    • Guns, knives or any items construed by Security as weapons
    • Pets, except on a leash in camping and muster areas
    • Bad attitude, aggressive, violent, abusive or drunken behaviour as determined by Security regardless of ticket status
    • People without ticketed wristbands, except for Children under 13 years of age at the time of the Festival

    • Yes, all workshops are free if you have your Festival wristband ticket.
    • You can always leave a donation or purchase a CD / DVD of the presenter to show your appreciation and have a souvenir of the experience.

    • Absolutely! The Canberra Country Music Festival has always included Trucks in the Muster in recognition of the great service provided to all, whether it be local or interstate. We just love truckies!

    HORSES

  • Can I Bring My Horse To The Festival?
    • The Canberra Country Music Festival is the only urban located music festival in Australia that has facilities to shelter horses overnight. So yes, pony clubs and trail riders are very welcome to ride in!
    • Horses are not allowed near stages, food stalls, markets or display areas due to high public traffic and health requirements

  • How can artists perform @ the Festival?
    • The Canberra Country Music Festival gives priority to quality emerging, independent and regional performers who can use the Festival to showcase their talent to diverse and appreciative audiences
    • Performer Submissions are accepted up to 30 June each year
    • Artists can also apply to perform for audience fees at Busker Central
    • Performers can buy their ticket, bring their musical instrument and put their name down to perform on the Bundy Blackboard Stage @ The Bundy Bar
    • Some performers are invited by the Festival, especially where we know they will draw a substantial audience
    • International performers are welcome and advised to contact the Festival through Sonicbids or direct via email if contemplating visiting Australia in November.
  • Can Performers Sell Their Music / Merchandise @ the Festival?
    • Yes, either directly after the performance or from the Festival Shop
    • The Festival Shop may require a small commission on Performer's CD and merchandise to cover costs of credit card, Efpos and financial fee charges.
  • I missed the Performers Submission Deadline. Please Can I Still Play @ the Festival?
    • Artists can also apply to perform for audience fees at Busker Central
    • Performers can buy their ticket, bring their musical instrument and put their name down to perform on the Bundy Blackboard Stage @ The Bundy Bar - but get in early each day
    • We encourage musicians and singers to take a seat, meal and drink and network with others jamming some great Country tunes, as you like. This is how it all started.

    VENDORS @ CANBERRA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

  • How can vendors apply to be @ the Festival?
    • The Canberra Country Music Festival gives priority to previous vendors where feedback was positive from audiences, performers, volunteers and other vendors.
    • Most of our vendors are from within 300km of Canberra, but we certainly welcome new non-food market vendors from outside this region
    • Food Vendors are fully booked for 2010
    • Artists can also apply to perform for audience fees at Busker Central
    • Market and display vendors are welcome to email the Festival so we can send you the relevant booking form.

    VOLUNTEERS

  • How does the volunteer system work?
    • Volunteers earn a 3-Day Weekend Pass by agreeing to work 3 x 4 hour shifts and are asked to indicate their preferred times on the Festival Volunteer Registration Form.
    • Times available include during pre-festival setup, festival time and post-festival cleanup.
    • Volunteers under 18 years of age need their parents/guardian approval
    • All volunteers must complete a basic OH&S Induction before commencing their shifts
    • When not undertaking their allocated shift, volunteers are free to enjoy the Festival at their leisure
    • Site Orientation is undertaken on the Sunday afternoon preceeding the Festival - Canberra region volunteers are encouraged to attend
    • Many Festival positions are based on the successful organisation of other events, especially National Folk Festival, Summernats, Major Creek, Harrietville, Grabine and Whittlesea Country Music Festivals - so if you've volunteered at these before, you will feel at home with the way we work.
